
The Board Connection is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to increase the number of women serving on corporate boards and in the executive suite through programs designed to connect, influence and develop women capable of serving as board members.
The Board Connection’s membership consists of professional women who have the desire and ability to be serious candidates for corporate board positions. Members have access to our networking sessions, information on board searches, and assistance with board readiness development programs.
Our leadership team consists of a board of directors from prominent corporate and professional organizations in the Dallas area. Our team brings experience and commitment to TBC and to the advancement of women serving on corporate boards.

The Board Connection presents executive development panel discussions in quarterly meetings throughout each year. Seasoned corporate board directors share invaluable insight to new best practices in light of changes to corporate governance laws. The Board Connection's October 6 quarterly event was hosted by Haynes and Boone, LLP. Kit Addleman, TBC board member and Partner at Haynes and Boone, led a panel discussion with Bella Goren, CFO of AMR and American Airlines, and Francesa Spinelli, principal at Precidia Partners and past SVP People at PetSmart, Inc. and RadioShack.
Melisa Denis opened the meeting noting the four key programs offered to TBC members: Training and Preparation, Networking and Exposure, Resources not duplicated in other board readiness groups, and the comprehensive Assessment program launching in November. Texas CEO publisher Pat Niekamp addressed the group and distributed the September/October issue, featuring an editorial authored by TBC President, Melisa Denis.
Lisanne Glew, TBC board member and chair of the group's inaugural awards luncheon celebrating diversity in Texas boards, projected an event date of April or May 2012. Relationships are forming with lead sponsors like D Magazine and Texas companies known for diverse governance. TBC committees welcome members' active participation to influence their companies and connections to promote, plan, and support the awards aevent and fundraiser.

Oct. 6, 2011 - Texas CEO magazine features a two-page article contributed by The Board Connection President Melisa Denis in the September/October 2011 issue. "Changing One Boardroom at a Time" makes the case for the value women add to corporate and board performance. Melisa recognizes The Board Connection founders who helped establish the organization: Tamara Bebb, Lisa Bormaster, Paula Calise, Eliane Hall, Carla Howard, Kelly McDonald, Alan Stein and Shelley Venick.
